Chilli Chicken Recipe

Chilli Chicken is no doubt an absolute favourite when it comes to desi Chinese recipes. An absolute wonder from the Tangra district of India, this recipe is quite simple and always lives up to your expectations. This recipe however calls for fresh ingredients, leaving you with perfect results every time. Mostly had with schezwan noodles and vegetable Manchurian. You can also adjust the spice and the sauce as per your need, some love it dry as an appetizer, either way, works super delicious. Ingredients

  • 250 g Shredded Chicken
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp Cornflour
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Soya Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Spicy Red Chilli Sauce
  • 6-8 Garlic (finely chopped)
  • 2 medium Onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 Green Chillies (evenly cut)
  • 1 tbsp Coriander roots (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Green Chilli paste
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper (julienne)
  • Onion petals
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Chopped Spring Onions
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt as required
  • Pepper as required





Method
  1. Marinate the chicken with salt, pepper, egg white, lemon juice and cornflour.
  2. Mix gently and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Once done deep fry the chicken in oil on medium flame until it turns light golden brown.
  4. For the sauce, add the three mentioned sauces in a bowl and give a good mix.
  5. Now hear 2 tbsp oil on medium flame and add the garlic, onions, green chillies, and coriander stems.
  6. Fry until the raw aroma of garlic goes away, then add the green chilli paste.
  7. Cook for 2 minutes, meanwhile add water so that it does not burn.
  8. Lower the flame and add the sauces, add the bell pepper julienne, and stir for 2 minutes.
  9. Now add the cooked chicken and mix well.
  10. Lastly add the onion petals, chopped coriander leaves, chopped spring onions, and give one final mix.
  11. Serve with a garnish of chopped spring onions.
